\b0 It is set in the middle of a vineyard. The church built of pink sandstone, the half-ti
mbered houses with their large porches, and the flowers on balconies or old wells create a charming atmosphere. It is one of the many villages that are to be found every three or kilometers in the foothills of the Vosges. The majority of its inhabitants
are vine growers, farmers, or stock breeders. Many also work in the towns, or in nearby Germany. Alsatian is still spoken and it is common for people to be equally at home with French and German.\par
